This program allows students to learn about the island through service learning within Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico’s natural environment is as diverse as the people and culture of Puerto Rico. Proud of its Indigenous, African, Spanish and in the 20th Century, U.S. cultural heritage, Puerto Ricans defy U.S. racial conventions and claim a unified and proud identity as Puerto Ricans, but American too.

Participating in this GO Short program was the best decision I've ever made! Being able to bring my passion for community service abroad while learning about another culture was such an enriching experience. - Meaghan Schoppe, 2017 program
[The best part was] the food, dancing, and the welcoming mannerisms of each person I met --Student on 2015 program

About GO Short:
Through intentional programming, students make the most of their short-term study abroad on GO Short programs. You will study away with Susquehanna faculty/staff leading a small group of Susquehanna classmates, all of whom have participated in the program’s preparation (i.e. GO Prep) course in the semester prior to departure. After an intensive, active program, there is a reflection course for the program to optimize your cross-cultural learning. As these programs run during winter or summer breaks and are 2-6 weeks, they are great opportunities for students to study away without committing to a full semester.
