About GO Hawai'i:
What makes this program so special is the true cultural immersion the students experience over the course of two and a half weeks on three Hawaiian islands. Students gain a greater understanding of the culture and history of Hawai’i from the point of view of native Hawaiians. This program allows students the opportunity to learn about the Hawaiian culture first-hand in a way that most people will never experience.
Financial aid: Need-based aid may be available
Directors: Lou Ann Tom, Associate Professor of Chemistry, and Kuuipo Tom, Head Volleyball Coach
This trip was one of the greatest experiences of my entire life! I would give anything to go back to Hawaii and experience that culture again! --Zachary Kline, 2017 program
GO Hawai'i was such a once in a lifetime experience that encouraged friendship, community, and appreciation through team-building events and breathtaking views. -- Marissa Heddings, 2017 program
This cultural program is truly amazing! Full of adventure and life lessons. -Participant on 2017 program
Learning that family is one of the most important aspects of the Hawaiian culture was my favorite take-away from this experience. Families heavily rely on the next generation to take care of their business and to teach the culture that their parents and grandparents taught to them. The Hawaiian aspect of love and loyalty is something I wanted to bring back to the states and incorporate into my own life. -- Abigail Johnson, 2016 program
What a place, what a trip, what a life! -- Bobby Klatt, 2016 program
About GO Short:
Through intentional programming, students make the most of their short-term study abroad on GO Short programs. You will study away with Susquehanna faculty/staff leading a small group of Susquehanna classmates, all of whom have participated in the program’s preparation (i.e. GO Prep) course in the semester prior to departure. After an intensive, active program, there is a reflection course for the program to optimize your cross-cultural learning. As these programs run during winter or summer breaks and are 2-6 weeks, they are great opportunities for students to study away without committing to a full semester.
