ABOUT SU IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
*Please note: this program can only count for GO if you successfully obtain an internship with an organization that meets the SU cross cultural learning goals.  Please schedule an appointment in the GO office to talk about the types of internships that can count for the SU GO requirement.
Spend a semester in Washington, D.C. surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Nation's Capital. Intern in a cross-cultural setting on the National Mall or around the city and interact with people from all different nationalities and walks of life in a multi-cultural city. Attend a Congressional Committee meeting or a demonstration and write about experiences and the people you meet. Tour the Pentagon, U.S. Capitol Building and the White House and see history in the making. Choose from a variety of classes on different aspects of the history and culture of Washington, D.C. and the United States.

Where you'll study: Lutheran College Washington Semester

Course sampling: Business, Communications, Political Science, etc.

Housing: Apartment-style housing

Costs: Normal Susquehanna tuition plus Lutheran College Washington Semester enrollment fee

Explore the political side of Washington, D.C. through attending a Congressional Committee hearing and a demonstration
Live in the suburb of Rosslyn within walking distance of a stop on the D.C. Metro to explore the city
Tour Washington, D.C. and the surrounding areas through weekly program-organized field trips
Volunteer your time around the D.C. metro area at a homeless shelter, the National Zoo, the Cherry Blossom Festival and more
