GO Austria offers you the mountains, music, and magic of Austria. But beyond seeing lovely tourist spots, you will get to know and work closely with students at the University of Salzburg. In a country that struggles with a past that is both brilliant and dark, you will consider lasting impact of history and culture on the modern world.

My brief stay in Austria this past summer was a truly pleasant and enlightening experience. Not only did I get the opportunity to immerse myself in a foreign culture, I also had the chance to partake in some really extraordinary activities. From taking a bike ride in Austria's more rural country side, to hiking the snowless slopes of Zell Am See, the country and its culture were both amazing experiences and sights to behold. -Altan Ernesti, 2017 program
GO Austria was such a life changing experience. For me personally, I learned more in my first two days there than I imagined learning throughout the entire trip. I would recommend this to any student considering a GO short!! -Marielle Miller, 2017 program
This program offers you so many different musical, educational, and physical activities/experiences that will stick with you for the rest of your life. -Student on 2017 program
[GO Austria] really impacted the way I feel about different cultures and how different each of them are. Living in New Jersey, I was blown away with the mountains and historic buildings in Austria. I would go back in a heartbeat! - Alex Edelman, 2016 program
For me, the focal points of [GO Austria] were several opportunities to interact and spend time with Austrian students, performances at the Vienna Opera House, and a somber visit to the Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial. – Andrew Jennings, 2013 program
As a classical musician hoping to perform professionally, seeing how regular people in Austria are so enthusiastic and supportive of classical music was inspiring and affirming. It gave me proof that the career path I've chosen is meaningful for many people, and I now feel much more confident that I will find success. – Sarah Stine, 2016 program
About GO Short:
Through intentional programming, students make the most of their short term study abroad on GO Short programs. You will study away with Susquehanna faculty/staff leading a small group of Susquehanna classmates, all of whom have participated in the program’s preparation (i.e. GO Prep) course in the semester prior to departure. After an intensive, active program, there is a reflection course for the program to optimize your cross-cultural learning. As these programs run during winter or summer breaks and are 2-6 weeks, they are great opportunities for students to study away without committing to a full semester.
